I recently had the opportunity to work with Julie & David at his parents farm in Chapeau, Quebec. They were a great, fun and easy-going couple to work with and they had alot of great ideas that we incorporated in the session. Chapeau is a small farm village located just on the other side of the Outaouais river from Pembroke, ON. This great couple will be tying the knot next June at the Notre Dame Basilica. For these photos, I chose to add a Black and White sepia tone but the couple also got their photos in Colour as well.
The rustic country look from their engagement photo location will go great with the scenery at Strathmere. Here’s a photographers note on the their wedding location.
Strathmere is a historical location with picturesque scenery and unique buildings that can host your special day. The Historic Strathmere Inn is a beautiful stone building reminiscent of Victorian era in which is was built. With a beautiful spiral staircase on the inside as well as century old walnut trees outside in the front, the Inn makes a great location for an intimate ceremony in front of your closest friends and family. The Strathmere Lodge offers a more rustic backdrop with its wooden beams, stone fireplaces on the inside and romantic arbour with views overlooking farm fields and beautiful gardens. At last, but certainly not the least, is the Garden House. Ideal for outdoor ceremonies, the Garden House offers beautiful views of the woods and fruit orchard.
The Notre-Dame Basillica is a Gothic style cathedral with stunning stained glass windows lining the walls with an ornately decorated Sanctuary. Stay tuned for David and Julie’s wedding photos coming next summer.
